A New Hampshire native, Michelle Dumas launched Distinctive Career Services, LLC (aka Distinctive Documents) in 1996, when the internet was still in its infancy. Initially based from Somersworth, New Hampshire (the Seacoast Region of the state) and more recently Wakefield, New Hampshire (the Lakes Region of the state), Michelle built a thriving international practice working with job seekers in all 50 U.S. states and Canada, as well as many U.S. expats living globally and English-speaking international clients in countless countries worldwide.
Today, Distinctive Career Services, LLC is widely recognized as one of the longest-standing leaders in the professional resume writing and career marketing industry. The firm’s team of professional resume writers and career coaches are among the best-of-the-best in the industry: the most highly credentialed professionals who are committed to delivering the top-quality service that Distinctive Career Services, LLC is widely renowned for.
An avid hobbyist genealogist, Michelle Dumas can trace her family roots in Colonial New Hampshire back to the early and mid-1600s, to many of the founding families of what became the State of New Hampshire. Among these, Edward Gilman Sr. (Michelle’s 11th great grandfather and the 3rd great grandfather of the future Nicholas Gilman, signer of the U.S. Constitution and NH Governor John Taylor Gilman), Elder William Wentworth (Michelle’s 9th great grandfather and common ancestor for the entire legendary Wentworth family in NH), and Governor Thomas Wiggin (Michelle’s 11th great grandfather and the first governor of the Upper Plantation of New Hampshire, a settlement that later became part of the Province of New Hampshire in 1679).
With these roots, Michelle’s passion for her home state isn’t surprising, and it is this passion that was the impetus for the launch of FreeStateJobs.com. Her goal: to help all those who have a similar love of New Hampshire and her people, history and culture to find personally, professionally, and financially rewarding work in the state, allowing them to live here happily and be contributing members of the communities in which they live. The bottom line: New Hampshire is a great place to live and work, and the more talent that is here, the more amazing it continues to be.
